Award-winning documentary REDt’BLUE gets a premiere in the Midlands this February

Multi award-winning documentary REDt’BLUE from Jay Martin is getting a premiere in the Midlands this February.


The political documentary will be screening February 26th 2022 and you can join the cast and crew for a cinema spectacular at the Broadway cinema in Nottingham.


REDt'BLUE tells the story of Mansfield, a former pit town born off the back of the coal industry, which shocked the nation in 2017 when it became one of the first constituencies of its kind to abandon its Labour Party heritage.


Stretching back almost 100-years, Mansfield’s population moved from Labour and aimed to find a brighter future under Ben Bradley's Conservative banner.


Winner of 5 best documentary awards, the film screens on Saturday 26th February with doors opening early at 9am and the filmmakers invite attendees to head to the Mezzanine Bar on the second floor for a champagne reception.


The documentary was also nominated for our own Midlands Movies Awards in 2021 and the filmmaker also tackled the effects of the pandemic in the region in a short series for the BBC (read here).


The premiere screening itself will be starting at 10am in Broadway’s fantastic Screen 1. And it will begin by also showcasing some of the most incredible filmmaking talent in Nottinghamshire with a range of short films, music videos, documentaries and more. This will culminate in the world premiere of REDt'BLUE introduced by the film’s creator Jay Martin.


Dress code is smart-formal and the director is inviting attendees to join for an after-party from 12.15pm, grab a picture in front of their REDt'BLUE banner and chat to the people who made REDt'BLUE a reality.
