Midlands Spotlight - Echoes of the Fallen

"On a battlefield, nobody expected the hunters to become the hunted".

A brand-new apocalyptic action production is released this month courtesy of The Actors Workshop Nottingham, Screen School UK, Fourmost Films and besq Productions which has been made by and stars the talent of the Midlands.

Echoes of the Fallen is an explosive genre film created by The Actors Workshop Nottingham as part of their Screen School training program, which assists up-and-coming talent to develop skills and create eye catching portfolio material.

The film was shot in two days on location in the Nottinghamshire countryside on a disused site awaiting demolition. The cast of 12, based in the East Midlands, took on both emotionally and physically challenging roles and were supported by a professional production team with many decades of experience working in film and television.

The film is set in the future of 2066 following a global nuclear war and what remains of the old society is now a battleground with different factions fighting for control.

It goes on to tell of two prominent groups, the Haig's Guardian and the Migos, who are locked in a bloody struggle and at stake is the ultimate control of this post-apocalyptic world.

Also helping to get the film made is Screen School, which aims to support actors to learn incredible screen-acting performance skills and put them into practice.

And they have had Screen School alumni and Actors Workshop members cast in hit programmes such as DC Titans (Amazon Prime), Aladdin (Disney +), Stay Close (Netflix), Charmed (Paramount +), NCIS Los Angeles (Amazon Prime), Without Sin (ITV) Coronation Street (ITV), Hollyoaks (Channel 4), Doctors (BBC) plus an array of television commercials!

Together, the production teams were passionate about creating stunning showreel material, developing acting career trajectories and providing unforgettable life affirming experiences.

Director & producer Tim Bryn Smith (Founder - The Actors Workshop Nottingham & Screen School) says, "It was an absolute privilege to work with this group of talented & supportive actors, I can’t wait to see what they do next in their careers. It’s definitely Screen School’s most ambitious project so far and I think what was achieved in just 2 days filming is quite remarkable. Its testament to the dedication of those involved and the creativity and hard work of our amazing production team".

Cast Member Andrew Henry (who plays Ezekiel Bryant) adds, "This experience will always be in our hearts. It's been such a privilege and inspiration to work on this project".

And Lucy Moon (Cleo Brehon) sums up her experience by explaining, "I have honestly felt so privileged to have worked on this incredible project with amazing creatives both on the cast and crew. Thank you once again Tim Bryn Smith for putting me through my paces!"
