Leicester Film Club screens a Tony Scott classic in May 2023

The Leicester Film Club goes from strength to strength with another classic cult night due to take place in Leicester next month.

For its 30th anniversary, Tony Scott’s gun-splattered love story True Romance (1993) will be shown at the city centre's Firebug venue on Sunday 21st May.

The film sees Clarence (Christian Slater) as a shy comic-book nerd who falls for call-girl Alabama (Patricia Arquette). And when they find themselves in possession of a suitcase of cocaine they head to Hollywood to sell it, with the mob and police close behind.

Written by Quentin Tarantino and directed by Tony Scott, True Romance is a love story and violent thriller featuring an incredible 90s cast.

So put Sunday 21st May 2023 into your diary and head down to Firebug bar (1 Millstone Lane, Leicester LE1 5JN) for a film and introduction of one of the best films of the era.

Tickets can be purchased in advance via EventBrite for £4.50, or £6 on the door. 18+
