Leicester Film Club: House Party (1990)

The Leicester Film Club are returning to the 90s this summer with a rare screening of joyous hip hop classic House Party, written and directed by Reginald Hudlin.

The film tells of Kid wants to go to his friend Play's house party but must dodge cops, bullies and his pops to get there. Neither of them can predict what's in store on what could be the wildest night of their lives.

Running cult nights for over two years now, LFC already puts fun at the forefront of their cult screenings and this will be no different with 90s outfits and dance moves being very welcome.

Once more, the film is being show at regular LFC host (and good MM friends) Firebug Bar at  1 Millstone Lane in Leicester city centre.

And show up to this party on
June 23rd from 4:30pm where the doors open for music and trailers before the main film screens at 5pm. An intermission will allow guests to refill their drinks and socialise before a planned finish time of 7pm calls this party to an end.

Tickets are £5.50 in advance and £6 on the door (if available) and there's an over-18s policy given the film's rating. Grab them here:

Also in their 90s Summer Season there will be a screening of Sly Stallone action classic Demolition Man (1993) on 11th August!

Leicester Film Club is a city centre pop up cinema night screening cult, horror and classic movies. A chance to ditch the streaming services for an evening to watch films with other movie nerds, meet new people and learn more about cinema in relaxed environment.

Limited tickets available for each screening and please follow on social media for further updates:

Marvel’s post-Endgame output has been rather patchy and I had all but given up on the whole thing by avoiding all their films and TV shows for the last 2 years. Thor: Love and Thunder was the breaking point for me.

I can remember it vividly, the excitement, the spectacle and the long drive home afterwards. Needless to say, Batman V Superman, with its convoluted exposition and overall drabness isn’t a film I hold in high regard against its peers.
