The LCB Depot in Leicester is looking for films to screen for a new season of creative projects they are planning for 2021.

LCB Depot is a hub for creative people and businesses based in Leicester’s Cultural Quarter which is home to creative businesses, gallery space, a café and multi-purpose meeting rooms.

This March will be their film season which will be showcasing new work from film, photography and video whether made for the big screen or the phone.

From March 5th - 26th they hope to present recent work by Leicester/shire and inter/national artists, designers and makers working in, or studying in, the following fields:

• photography and film -analogue or digital
• video for TV/online
• post-production and other related fields

They are keen to make their event as accessible as possible and so currently there are no themes or particular genre requirements. However, the LCB Depot are specifically looking for creatives with emerging or established careers in film and photography and hope that any recent film work from those in this field can apply. Other guidance can be found via the form below.

The open call will be live until midnight on February 22nd and you can find more details and send submissions via https://forms.gle/qcUNExxNXKTjoY9h6

Although the exhibition will take place online this year, LCB will also be using their window spaces to make a gallery on the street.

Making it clear that it’s very much optional but they hope to receive and display some physical work at their space. In addition, they have systems in place to ensure safe delivery and pickup of all work but do make creatives aware that the physical exhibition cannot have any sound.

Finally, the LCB Depot hope to work with the arts community to provide ideas for new events. During normal working periods, they host family workshops, academic seminars, interviews and creative networking.

In the last year they have been running these through Zoom, YouTube, Facebook Live and Instagram streams fb live streams. Contact them via their social media pages below.
