We’d love your help getting the word out about our new website!
Below you will find resources to help let your friends and peers know about the brand-new Midlands Movies website including new logos, videos, images, factoids, tweets, Facebook updates and more.
What’s new?
Well, we have a brand new re-design
of the site to make everything a lot simpler and faster to navigate.
You can still find the best local reviews, news and features as well as mainstream releases in our comprehensive coverage but far easier and quicker than ever before. We also have a new page of independent cinemas
in the region, an updated list of festivals in the Midlands
and an improved search facility
to help find contacts and information about the latest local productions. It’s also easier to contact us too. Just fill in the contact form on the Contact Us page and we’ll get straight back to you. With faster access and brand new content, Midlands Movies’ new website will be your one-stop shop for everything you need to know about the Midlands film community.

Here is some information about the new Midlands Movies website
• What is it?
A brand new format for promoting local filmmakers and projects looking to showcase their diverse range of productions hailing from the Midlands region.
• Who is behind it?
This site was founded by Michael Sales.
• What type of content do you publish?
We publish the latest news and views about local film productions in the region. From Midlands-made shorts to full-length features, we hope audiences can discover the best movie talent close to home!
• Why create this resource?
The founder, Michael Sales has been involved in film and music since graduating De Montfort University with a degree in Media. Mike wanted to create a resource for passionate film fans who want to find out about the best filmmaking talent in a region that can often get overlooked, but one bubbling with huge potential.

On Sunday 26th April Midlands Movies Editor Michael Sales & awards ceremony co-host Ed Stagg (BBC Radio) announced the nominations for the 2026 Midlands Movies Awards live from the Queen of Bradgate Vintage Cinema in Leicester. A big thanks was given to the entire Jury Panel of industry experts who gave up their precious time to watch a huge selection of creative projects and as always, had a difficult time choosing from the excellent number of films from the region.
