What if The Goonies battled Dracula?

Halloween season is fast approaching and Leicester Film Club are bringing the classic monster mash-up The Monster Squad (1987) back to the cinema for one night only.

If you grew up loving horror, 80s adventure and films suited to a Saturday night sleepover, this one's for you, and it's time to gather your squad and reserve your seats now to experience this cult hit how it's supposed to be seen, on the big screen with a crowd.

🎬 The Monster Squad (1987) is brought to film fans by Leicester Film Club in collaboration with Showcase Cinema de Lux Leicester.

"You know who to call when you have ghosts. But who do you call when you have monsters?" Count Dracula returns to the world of humans accompanied by Frankenstein’s Monster, the Wolfman, the Mummy, and the Gillman. The monsters are in search of a powerful amulet that will grant them the ability to rule the world. A group of horror-loving hero kids are the only ones daring to stand in their way.

The event takes place on Saturday 17th October 2026 at Showcase Cinema De Lux Leicester, 7 Highcross Lane, Leicester LE1 4SD. Drinks are available at 6pm alongside a social meet-up in the cinema's Director's Lounge. And at 7pm there will be an introduction to the film and a selection of vintage trailers screened before the main film event.
