Darkness In The Fields film festival comes to Derby

Derby's rather excellent Darkness In The Fields Film Festival returns for 2026 promising another full day of folky horror scares featuring new films and filmmakers.


With successful events already taking place over the years (click these links to read Matt Tilt's thoughts from 2025 and 2024), the organisers are promising another exciting day for horror fans from all walks of life


Once again taking place at independent cinema Derby Quad in the East Midlands, the full day lasts from 12pm until late on Saturday 21st March 2026.


Fright fans can purchase full day passes for £30 with concessions prices at £25 (available from this page), but individual film tickets are also available if you want to pick and choose from the five movies screening.

 

As folk horror’s resurgence continues, Darkness In the Fields returns for its third film festival and still promises to be a gathering together of an exciting array of features and shorts within the genre.


So expect rituals, cults, witchcraft, old beliefs, monsters and more with a loaded day of screenings – a must attend for the folk horror fan!
