Collective Acting Studio opens part-time school at Midlands Arts Centre

A new leading actor-training provider for underrepresented groups is expanding to Birmingham and is currently recruiting for September 2025 cohort.


Collective Acting Studio is the UK's leading provider of actor-training for students from underrepresented groups and has announced the opening of its highly successful Part-Time School in Birmingham this September.


The new programme will be based at the Midlands Arts Centre and is currently recruiting talented actors to join its inaugural Birmingham cohort.


Founded on the belief that artists have the power to change the world, Collective Acting Studio's mission is to help amplify fresh, new voices to help rebalance our society. And tThe Studio champions actors from traditionally underrepresented groups, providing access to the highest-quality training regardless of financial background.


A Proven Track Record of Success


Actors who are part of the Collective have gone on to work in Hollywood films, on Broadway, for the National Theatre, in the West End and in series for Netflix, Apple TV, HBO, BBC, ITV and Channel 4. The Studio's comprehensive approach combines rigorous stage training with a strong emphasis on screen acting, preparing students for the modern entertainment industry.

How can I sign up and find out more?


Collective Acting Studio is actively seeking passionate, talented actors to join their first Birmingham cohort. The Studio welcomes applications from actors of all experience levels, focusing on raw ability, potential, and commitment to community building.


Prospective students have three pathways to join:


  • Apply directly through the studio's website
  • Attend a £5 taster session on Monday 8th September, 6:30-8:30pm at Midlands Arts Centre
  • Schedule a personal consultation with founder Paul Harvard
