Spotlight - Mr. Stitch In Time Sends Chills Down The Spine

By midlandsmovies, Jun 8 2014 10:25AM

The local scene keeps on getting better as we hear from Mr. Stitch Films from Nottingham, a production company that specialises in horror movies.

Midlands Movies speaks to Anthony Michael Winson, the founder of Mr. Stitch Films, whose low budget horror films have been terrorising the film landscape of Nottingham since the filmmaker was introduced to the genre by his big brother at a young age. With a lot to thank him for, Anthony explains that some of his earliest memories are sitting and enjoying scary movies with his brother with classics such as Nightmare on Elm Street, Child’s Play and The Amityville Horror among their favourites.

As he became older, his passion grew and Anthony also cites his father for allowing him to borrow a video camera and start his journey of fulfilling his dream to become a film director and editor. With influences from the masters of horror like Wes Craven and John Carpenter, Mr. Stitch Films has already had two of their shorts shown in New York at Macabre Film Festival in 2013 with one of their films even receiving a well deserved nomination at the event.

Anthony’s latest film is the spooky The Haunting Of Baylock Residence whose story revolves around Patricia Woodhouse, who after hearing that her older sister has passed away, goes to help with the removal of her belongings but once in the house it's not long before sinister forces let themselves be known.

The film is due to be shown at Nottingham’s Screen 22 (the smallest recognised single screen digital cinema in the world with its quaint 22 seats) and Anthony is looking for great feedback from the local horror crowd. Situated in the heart of Nottingham city centre, Screen 22 is showing the film on February 25th and 27th and the trailer for the black and white shocker is here but prepare yourself!

Midlands Movies wish them all the best for the premiere and fans can follow this film and all their latest updates at http://www.mrstitchfilms.co.uk or over at Facebook at this link www.facebook.com/mrstitchfilms
