Midlands Showcase - Beeston Film Fest

By midlandsmovies, Dec 29 2014 08:31AM

The Beeston Film Festival are currently looking and actively hunting local film makers to submit to the festival and get the chance to show off their film at a local independent cinema. Midlands Movies Mike finds out more about this new local festival coming in 2015...

Beeston, Nottingham’s Creative Town, announced today that it will be hosting its first Film Festival in January next year taking place at the town’s Beeston Cinema at the White Lion Bar & Kitchen on January 24th and 25th 2015.

This brand new festival is currently seeking submissions from independent film-makers across a range of genres and they are using the FestHome submission system so all transactions are fully secure and only 10 Euros (£8) per film. Categories that filmmakers can submit to are Family, Action, Drama, Horror, Comedy, and Student and this broad range of films will hopefully attract further interest in the future. It is being organised by John Currie of Arrondissement Films and James Hall of Creative Beeston, an organisation that aims to help Beeston’s creatives and businesses develop, network and expand.

John Currie, Beeston Film Festival co-director explained, “It will be wonderful to have a film festival on our doorstep; people in Beeston and the wider Nottingham area will be able to come along and enjoy the wonders of local and international film. As a film lover, I’m thrilled that we’re able to do this."

James Hall, Creative Beeston and Beeston Film Festival co-director added, "Beeston is a wonderful town with some fantastic events and talented people. We hope the Film Festival will add to this and help drive Beeston forward as a creative town."
